About Normal Map Studio

We are building a focused material workbench for artists who want fast local control before adding an external model to the workflow.

Local work should feel complete

A normal-map generator is fundamentally deterministic image processing. It should not need an account, upload, or recurring model subscription to calculate a gradient. Normal Map Studio keeps that path in the browser and gives users enough preview and quality context to judge the result.

Paid local features focus on production convenience—higher resolution, batching, presets, packing, and naming—rather than withholding the first useful result.

AI is optional and honestly metered

Models can infer scene depth, synthesize missing texture regions, and generate materials that local filters cannot. They also introduce variable cost, latency, provider availability, and an external data boundary. We separate those jobs, disclose uploads, and use credits instead of calling basic generation unlimited AI.

The product does not claim that a luminance-derived map recovers true geometry or that every AI result is production-ready. The previews and exports are tools for an artist's judgment.
